Chase County Finishes Regular Season, Turns Focus to Subdistricts

On Tuesday, February 10, the Longhorns hosted Hitchcock County in their second-to-last regular-season game. Chase County came out strong, with sophomore Zak Anderson scoring the first basket of the night. Lukas Fries quickly followed with another score. The Longhorns jumped out to an 18-8 lead by the end of the first quarter. They then had a 37-21 lead at halftime. Chase County held steady the rest of the game and secured the 53-47 win.
The Longhorns returned to their home court for the final game of the regular season against the Maywood-Hays Center Wolves. After the conclusion of the game, Chase County came away with a 60-52 victory to finish the regular season on a high note. The game also served as Senior Night, as Noah Rau, Carter Kuenning, and Austin Smith were recognized for being a part of the activity. Family members joined the seniors on the court as they were honored before the game.
With the regular season complete, the Longhorns now prepare for the district tournament, which is set to begin February 23rd. The location of the tournament will be announced at a later time.
