W/P girls wrestling season ends

    The Wauneta/Palisade girls wrestling team took three girls to the District B-4 Wrestling Meet in Ogallala on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6-7 for a chance to go to the State Meet in Omaha.
    Unfortunately, none of the girls qualified for the State Tournament, ending their season. In the 105 pound division, Saviana Carrizales lost in the heartbreak round, just one match short of qualifying.
    As a team, the Broncos finished 28th out of the 36 team field, scoring nine points.

    105: #6 Savianna Carrizales won by decision over #3 Jazzmyna Hardin Mor, 12-7; lost by Tech-fall to #2 Josey Werner Chad, 0-15; was pinned by #5 Edmy Balux Wayn, 0:39.
    115: #5 Andrea Almanza lost by Tech-fall to #4 Reagan McManigal Wayn, 0-18; pinned #14 Madyson DeHart-Harris G-R, 4:59; lost by decision to #9 Cayden Raether FOCA, 0-6.
    125: #7 Ensley Lawless was pinned by #2 Anna Rae Hartline FOCA, 0:54; lost by medical Forfeit to #16 Samira Arguello Sid.
