Bruce Buck, 87, of Sharon Springs, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026.
Born on October 7, 1938, Bruce was a proud United States Marine who devoted his life to his family, community, and country.
Bruce served for many years as the town barber of Sharon Springs, where friends and neighbors gathered not just for a haircut but for conversation and connection. He served the community as a County Commissioner and dedicated additional time on the Sharon Springs and NWKTC school boards. His commitment to service left a meaningful and lasting impact on the community he proudly called home for so many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn, as well as many other siblings and family members. Bruce is survived by his four children: Pamela and her husband Tod of Wauneta, NE; Brenda and her husband Mervin of Sharon Springs, KS, Scott and his wife Tina of Lakewood, WA, and Steven of Westminster, CO. He leaves behind eight grandchildren—Katie (Erick), Kylie (Chris), Kristopher (McKenzie); Maddison (Samual); McKenzie, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Emmalee—and four great grandchildren: Dylan, Evan, Aubree, and Greydon. He is also survived by his siblings Patrick Buck, Jean Finley, Virginia Whalen and Gloria Lewis; along with many nieces and nephews.
Bruce Buck leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and deep devotion—to his family, to his community, and to the many lives he enriched along the way. Though he will be profoundly missed, the impact he made will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
