CCS girls basketball goes 1-1 in last week

    On Thursday night, the girls basketball team traveled to Holyoke Co. for games with the Dragons. Once again the girls shots just would not fall. Holyoke took the win over the Longhorns, 37-51. No stats were available.
    On Saturday, the Horns hosted the Hershey Panthers and got the win, 51-48.
    It was a back and forth game throughout, with a different team leading after each quarter. Hershey led by one after the first quarter but the Longhorns reclaimed the lead at halftime, 28-27.
    In the third quarter, Hershey regained the lead by two, 38-40. The Longhorns kept fighting and with the game tied at 48, Ali Reeves drove to the basket, making the shot and getting fouled on the way.
    Reeves made the free throw, giving the Horns a three point lead with just 16.1 seconds left in the game. The Horns defense held up, getting a steal under Hershey’s basket to end the game with a 51-48 win, bringing the girls record to 6-12.
