W/P Girls B-Ball has busy week

    The W/P girls hosted the Cambridge Trojans on Tuesday, Jan. 20 and lost a heartbreaker. In a very evenly matched game, the Broncos were edged out by the Trojans 55-56, dropping the girls record to 9-6 going into the RPAC Tournament.
    The girls entered the first round of the RPAC Tournament with the fourth seed in the West bracket and faced fifth seeded Hitchcock County on Friday.     
    It was a tight game from start to finish in the first round. After leading by three at the end of the first quarter, the Broncos found themselves trailing by two at halftime, 28-30.
    The Broncos opened up a lead in the third quarter, scoring 17 and holding Hitchcock Co. to just 11. Both teams scored 13 in the fourth, giving the Broncos the win, 58-54,  and advancing them in the championship bracket to face number one seed, Dundy Co./Stratton on Monday.
    The girls lost Monday to DCS, 35-62, dropping them to the consolation bracket.
