W/P basketball win 2, lose 2

    The Wauneta/Palisade girls picked up two more wins and the boys suffered two more losses this week on the basketball courts.
W/P vs South Platte
    On Tuesday, Jan. 13, the Broncos played host to the South Platte Blue Knights.
    In the girls game, the Broncos started a little slow in the first quarter, but bounced back in the second to take a 22-18 lead at the half.
    The Broncos defense held the Blue Knights to single digits in both quarters of the second half, which helped to increase the lead and give the lady Broncos the 51-38 win at home.
    The boys are still struggling, losing to the Blue Knights 46-64. Aeden Wheeler lead W/P in scoring with 13. Ayden Baker added 12 and Wyatt Hilbert 11.

W/P vs Garden County
    On Saturday, Jan. 17, the Broncos traveled to Oshkosh for games with the Garden County Eagles.
    The girls kept their winning streak alive, squeeking out a 43-41 win, bringing the winning streak to three games and improving the girls record to 9-5.
    The boys struggles continued, losing to Garden County 32-65. Wyatt Hilbert lead the Bronco scoring with 14. The boys record stands at 1-13 heading into the Cambridge game.
