CCS girls finish sixth at Chadron

    The Longhorn girls traveled to Chadron Dec. 29-31 for the Holiday Tournament and returned home with a sixth place finish.
    In the first round against Chadron, the girls lost a heartbreaker, 45-47.
    The Horns led for the majority of the game, holding a four point lead after three quarters, but the Cardinals came back in the fourth quarter to steal the win.

    That dropped the girls into the consolation bracket to face  the Niobrara County Tigers. The Tigers had a 7-3 record coming into the contest.
    The Horns played a great game, pulling out to a 27-16 lead at half and increasing the margin to 45-27 at the end of the game.. The win placed the Horns in the game for fifth and sixth against Gering.

In a close game, the Gering Bulldogs managed to come away with the win, handing the Longhorns a sixth place finish with the 54-58 loss.
