Dwight Royce Spady
March 8,1945 - November 30,2025
Dwight “Papo” “Spud” Spady - one of a kind.
It’s impossible to capture the impact he had on the world in just a few paragraphs. A tough, hardworking man with a heart full of love, he built more than homes during his lifetime. He built a legacy, a safe place for every person he loved, and a family that will forever carry his spirit forward.
Dwight was born in Imperial, Nebraska, to Harold and Donna Spady. A star football player in high school, he brought that same determination and grit into every chapter of his life. Time spent with his siblings—Gary, Lenny, Kyle, and Dawanna— shaped the man he became and inspired him to build a life uniquely his own.
He married his high school sweetheart, Sondra Yaw, and together they created a beautiful, full, and adventurous life. From Nebraska to Colorado, their days were filled with stories—fishing trips, hunting seasons, coin collecting, pulling the occasional loose tooth, and endlessly exploring the world with curiosity and humor.
Dwight also had a deep love for music. A talented guitar player with a warm, memorable voice, he brought life to every song he played and shared that love with those around him.
He is survived by his children: Shawn, Jarrett, Jennifer, Jeremy, and Matthew, as well as many beloved grandchildren—Renee, Mikal, Gage (Gabriella), Jack, Christina (Richie), Emma, and Austin—and a great-grandchild, Manta. A smile still comes to our faces when we remember his witty sayings or hear the familiar jingle of the keys that always seemed to be clipped to his bell bottoms.
Strong, kind, and forever loved, Dwight touched countless lives. We are profoundly blessed forevery moment, every laugh, and every memory.
Rest peacefully, Papo.
