The Longhorns welcomed Ogallala to town Friday night for the last home football game of the season. Ogallala came into the game with the same record as the Longhorns, 1-6, with both teams looking for there second win of the season.
Unfortunately, that win would go to the Indians of Ogallala, 0-33.
The Longhorns are struggling to get any offense going this year. On Friday night, it was more of the same. The Horns only rushed for 17 yards and passed for 58, while allowing Ogallala to rush for 281 yards and pass for 100.
Ogallala pounded the ball at the Longhorn defense, before throwing a 16 yard pass for a touch  down in the first quarter, to take a 0-6 lead. The extra point was blocked.
The second quarter, the Indians scored twice on runs of 20 and four yards. The two point conversion was good after the first score, but failed after the second, leaving the score at 0-20 at the half.
The Longhorn defense stiffened in the third, not allowing Ogallala to score, but the Longhorn offense just couldn’t get anything going.
In the fourth quarter, the Indians ran one in from three yards out and another from 41 yards to round out the scoring at 0-33.
The Horns had seven first downs to Ogallala’s 18. Ogallala amassed 381 total yards compared to the Longhorns 75.
The Horns will travel to Holdrege for their final game of the season. Holdrege is 0-8 on the season. Game time is 6:00 Friday.
