Girls are SPVA Champions, boys third

    Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Pheasant Run Golf Club in Grant, the SPVA Cross Country Meet was held, with the girls of Chase County placing first and the boys finishing in third.
    The girls had four of the six top places won by Chase County runners. Addison Hauxwell was the champion, Alayna Smith finished third, Tessa Smith fourth and Liz Hanna placed sixth.
    Haven Hauxwell was the top finisher for the boys and only medalist, placing third. Spencer Kelley and Brandon Chavira Sanchez just missed out on top ten medals, placing 11th and 13th respectively.
    The junior high girls team also placed first with three medalists. Bennett Smith took first, Anna McNair second and Hayden Fowler fifth. Lena Chrisman finished in 18th.
    For the junior high boys, both runners came home with a medal. Knox Paisley finished seventh and Noah Briggs was 10th.
