Girls win Cross Country in Scottsbluff

The girls cross country team seams to be peaking at just the right time. The girls placed three in the medals, with the fourth just missing by one place. The girls edged out the host team Scottsbluff and Chadron by six points to win the championship.
Addison Hauxwell was the top finisher for the lady Longhorns, finishing third, Alayna Smith was fifth, Tessa Smith seventh and Liz Hanna, 11th. Paige Nickless finished 25th and Ashlyn Heermann 27th.
The boys team finished in sixth. Haven Hauxwell was the only medalist from CCS, coming in third place. Bryce Mandeville finished 27th, Spencer Kelley 28th, Brandon Chavira Sanchez 32nd, Hayden Worth 41st and Camden Kunnemann 44th.
In the girls JV race, Zoey Kelley and Kate Colson both finished with medals, finishing in fourth and seventh respectively.
For the junior high runners, Bennett Smith took a medal home, finishing in eighth place in the girls, while Noah Briggs finished seventh for the boys, securing a medal for his efforts.
