W/P Volleyball improves to 8-3 record

    The Broncos Volleyball Team had a good week on the court. Thursday, Sept. 11, they traveled to St. Francise Ks. for a triangular that included the Rawlins County Buffaloes.
    The Broncos started off hot, beating the Buffaloes in the first set 25-9. The secondset was much closer, but the Broncos took the sweep 25-21.
    In the second match of the night, the Broncos swept the hosts with scores of 25-14 and 25-23, bringing their record to 6-2.
    Saturday, Sept. 13, the Broncos traveled to the Hitchcock Co. Tournament. In the first round, the Broncos were matched up with Arapahoe and wasted no time getting the job done, sweeping  the Warriors in two straight, 25-20 and 25-20.
    That advanced the Broncos to the semi-final match to face Axtell, who has a record of 3-5. The Broncos took the first set easily 25-16, but in the second set, the Broncos fell 9-25. In a tough battle in the third set, the Broncos pulled out a 25-23 win to take the match and advance to the finals to play Maywood-Hayes Center (9-1).
    The first set was close but the Broncos fell to M-HC by a score of 23-25. The second set, the Broncos bounced back and took the win 25-19.
    In the third and final set, Maywood-Hayes Center got the best of the Broncos, winning 13-25 and giving the Broncos second place.
