While playing against the Indians, the last thing the Senior Horns expected was a rain delay in the third inning on the 12th.
Before the storm hit, the Junior team played Ogallala and had a successful game, although it sadly didn’t end in a victory. The game was hosted in Imperial and began at 4:30. The final score was 5-7, with the Horns falling short by just two.
After the completion of the underclassmen’s game, the Senior game began. The team only made it through three innings until a storm quickly approached. The score at the time of the first lightning delay was 4-5 with Ogallala in the lead. After both teams quickly realized the weather was not in their favor, they decided to delay the rest of the game.
The game will continue on Thursday, the 19th located in Ogallala replacing an already scheduled game against the Indians. While the Senior teams will finish the game, the juniors will still participate in the scheduled game at 4:30pm.
On Saturday, the juniors had yet again another home game against Gothenburg. The Horns scored the victory over their opponents. The final score for the home game was 5-7.
The following day both teams traveled to compete against Mindin once again. The last time they competed against each other, Mindin claimed the victory over the Horns by many runs. The juniors fell to Mindin with the score of 3-11. The Seniors held up a fight with the score of 5-6. After the completion of this week’s games, the juniors record is 4-6 and the seniors have the record of 2-3.
Looking forward for the Horns, they will travel to compete agaisnt Holdrege on the 22nd. The juniors begin at 2:00 and 4:30 for the seniors.
