The Southwest Ikes held their annual Ron Berry Kid’s fishing day on Saturday, May 31 at Cox’s Ponds. There were 38 kids registered and about 50 total fishing.
Nebraska Game and Parks furnished trout for the kids to fish for and a fishing trailer with fishing poles.
After lunch, each registered child received a fishing related prize. There were two Grand Prize winners. Graham Vlasin won a lifetime hunt/fish permit and Adler Chubb won a lifetime habitat stamp.
The Ike’s would like to thank Jeannine Cox of Cox’s Ponds and the Nebraska Game and Parks Department for all their assistance.
