The East building at Titan Machinery suffered heavy damage when the wind blew in the west facing overhead door and ripped a large section of roof off and deposited it amongst the equipment in the yard and across the highway to the East.
Destructive wind storm hits Imperial following warnings

Wednesday evening, May 14 at about 7:15, day turned to night in the blink of an eye, as a haboob blew into Imperial, turning day to night and causing visibility to drop to zero, with winds nearing 70 mph.
The wind left the town looking like a war zone with tree branches strewn everywhere. An entire tree was blown down on west sixth street and the courthouse and Liewer Funeral Home both lost huge portions of trees.
On the north end of town, the east Titan Machinery building had a large portion of the roof torn off and scattered around their lot and across the highway to the east, in Gregg Smiths field.
Going north out of town, there are a couple of power poles that snapped in half just across the Perkins County line. Going west on highway 6, there are two pivots that got turned over just before the state line on the south side of the road.
Unfortunately, town only received about .20 inches of rain with the storm.
Sunday brought a second round of storms to the area, with predictions of large hail and destructive winds. Imperial saw the winds but no hail and finally got around an inch and a half of rain that was much needed.
