The Imperial Republican
Chase County Schools held it’s graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 10, in the main gym, with 54 seniors receiving their diplomas.
The seniors entered the gym with the high school band playing pomp and circumstances. George Colton gave the opening in English, while Sergio Quintana spoke the opening in Spanish.
Valedictorian, Ava McNair, gave a very emotional address to the class, while salutatorian Andrew Wiest thanked all the people who helped the seniors get to this point.
The Ninth Street Singers, led by David Rushing and accompanied by Rob Browning, sang, “Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday”.
The seniors then got up and delivered flowers to their loved ones, before returning to their seats to watch a video of the Class of 2025’s reflections.
Superintendant, Adam Lambert, presented the class of 2025 and the seniors filed across the stage, one-by-one to collect their diplomas from members of the school board.
School Counselor, Jacci Paisley, gave the seniors the go-ahead to move their tassels. Olivia Spady and Brayan Reyes gave the closing before the graduates exited the gym to Viva La Vida.
The National Honor Society members served as ushers, while the junior escorts were, Kreyton Paisley, Destry Russell, Tucker Mollendor and Navy Havel.
The class left an empty chair amongst the graduates as a tribute to all students, past and present, unable to participate in the Graduation Ceremony.
The class motto was young, wild and free, class flower was a white rose and the class colors were orange, black and white.
