CCS Boys Claim Victory at Dundy County

Last Friday, the Chase County Boys’ track team traveled to Dundy County to compete at the Twilight Meet. Teams that participated were Chase County, Cheylin, Dundy County Stratton, Maywood-Hayes Center, Perkins County, and Wauneta-Palisade. With five other schools, the Longhorns asserted dominance, winning by 103, with 242 points. Dundy County-Stratton came in second with 139 points.
Chase County claimed 10 first-place finishes and many second-place finishes as well.
Up next for the Longhorns is the B6 District Competition. This is the first year Chase County has been a part of the Class B competition. Other teams include: Alliance, Chadron, Cozad, Gering, Gothenburg, McCook, Ogallala, Scottsbluff, and Sidney. The meet will take place on Tuesday, May 13th. After the conclusion of the district competition, the qualifying competitors will travel to Omaha to take part in the State Competition on May 20th and 21st.

New school records set
Tristan Jablonski set a new school record in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.41, taking out the old record of 1:57.42, set by Brett Gooden in 2006.
The 4x100 relay team of Austin Smith, Tucker Mollendor, Thomas Reeves and Camron Lempke, set a new school record of 43.05, beating the record of 43.41 set last year by Johnny Sosa, Tucker Mollendor, Thomas Reeves and Camron Lempke.
