CCS Track Teams Win Don Stine Invite

Last week, the Chase County Longhorns traveled to Cambridge to compete at the Don Stin Invitational.
The girl’s team won by 59 points over second place to Dundy County Stratton. These points were fueled by three firsts. Those points were gained by Landree McNair in the 1600, Miranda Spady, Ashlyn Heermann, Emily Randall, and Elizabeth Hanna in the 3200 meter relay, and Avery Beemer in Pole Vault. The girl’s team scores for Saturday were: 1. Chase County-131, 2. Dundy County Stratton-72, 3. Cambridge-61, 4. Maywood-Hayes Center-59 5. Southwest-46.33, 6. Southern Valley (Oxford)-44, 7. Arapahoe-42.33, 8. Hershey-34.33, 9. Wauneta-Palisade-29, 10. Lexington-4, 11. McCook-3, and 12. Cozad-1.
The boys’ team won comfortably by 136 points, with Dundy County Stratton in second. The team had 12 firsts. Those were Cameron Lempke in the 200, Tristan Jablanski in the 800, Haven Hauxwell in the 1600, Andrew Wiest in the 3200, Scott Hoover in the 300 hurdles, all three relays, Malachi Christensen in Pole Vault, Kole Clevenger in both long and triple jump, and Noah Rau in the Discus. The boy’s team scores were: 1. Chase County- 248, 2. Dundy County Stratton-112, 3. Cambridge-35, 3. Hershey- 35, 5.Arapahoe-30, 6.Wauneta-Palisade-16, 7.Lexington-15, 8.McCook-11, 9.Cozad-9, 10.Southwest-6, 10. Southern Valley (Oxford)-6, 12. Maywood-Hayes Center-4.
The Longhorns next meet is located in Hershey on the 17th of April. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.
