Wednesday afternoon, March 19, Highway 6 west of Imperial was closed for about 2.5 hours, due to a jack-knifed semi near the Nebraska/Colorado State line.
The accident was caused by high winds and a slick spot of road. The semi tractor ended up in the north ditch, while the trailer was blocking the lanes on the highway.
Deputy Sheriff Rob Browning responded to the accident. Sinners Towing out of Benkelman was called in to pull the truck out of the ditch before the road could be re-opened.
There were no injuries and the truck was able to continue on it’s way once it got pulled out of the snow.
