CCS Speech revieves plaque and six medals at Ogallala Invite

On the 23rd of February, the Chase County Speech team traveled to the home of the Indians for the annual Ogallala Meet. The Longhorns received a plaque for Runner-Up in the Class C/D division with Perkins County capturing the victory. Overall, Chase County placed seven out of 28 teams, including numerous Class A and B schools.  
Placing sixth at the Ogallala meet were George Colton, Jesus Jaurez, Andrew Wiest, and Paige Nickless for Oral Interpretation of Drama. Capturing runner-up in Serious Prose was Colton. Jasmine Johnson earned sixth place in Entertainment Speaking. Wiest received seventh in both Humourous and Serious Prose. Not placing but receiving a medal for the Novice Award were Jaurez and Evan Tomkey for Duet Acting.  
Not receiving a medal but also participating were Emily Colton and Colt Majors in Poetry, Alyssa Schilke and Chloe Colton in Duet Acting, Nickless in Entertainment Speaking and Humorous Prose, Colton in Persuasive Speaking, and Johnson in Program of Oral Interpretation.  
Looking forward, the Longhorns are hosting SPVA Speech on Wednesday, February 26th. The start time is set to begin at 8:00 Mountain time. That following Saturday, the Longhorns will travel to Maxwell to compete at 8:00 Mountain time.
