Those members were George Colton, who captured gold in Serious Prose, and Andrew Wiest, who achieved victory in Humorous Prose and was runner-up in Serious Prose.
Other Longhorns who competed included Paige Nickless in Entertainment, Chloe Colton and Alyssa Schilke in Duet Acting, Emily Randall and Colt Majors in Poetry, Annabelle Kimble in Program of Oral Interpretation, and Colton, Wiest, Nickless, and Jesus Juarez in Oral Interpretation of Drama.
The next competition for the Chase County Speech team will be in Ogallala. It is set to take place on February 22nd, beginning at 8:00 am. Following that event, the Longhorns will host a home competition for SPVA on Wednesday, February 26th, starting at 9:00 am. Chase County students in grades 7-12 will not have school that day due to the speech event.
