W/P Girls wrestling season ends at districts

    Girls District Wrestling was held in Bayard Feb. 7-8. The Broncos took two girls, Saviana Carrizales at 105 and Andrea Almanza at 130.
    Carrizales started the meet with a bye in the first round. In her quarterfinal match, Carrizales was pinned by Zowie Wilkie of Winnebago in 3:32, dropping her into the consolation bracket.
    Carrizales won her next match against Lillyan Sheets of Sandhills Valley by tech-fall, 18-1. In the third round of consolations, Carrizales lost by pinfall to Mattaya Mills of Sutherland in 1:56 to end her season with a record of 27-13.
    Almanza lost her first match by tech-fall to Jenifer Banister of Gordon-Rushville, 0-17. She received a bye in the first round of consolations.
    In the second round of consolations, Almanza was pinned by Aubrie Seybold of Southwest in 3:48, to end her season with a record of 11-23.
