This year’s version of the Cambridge School Organization’s annual All-Star basketball game featured athletes from both Wauneta-Palisade and Chase County Friday evening.
Former Broncos’ GraCee Goings and Peyton Cox played for the West team in the girls’ contest.
Goings earned West MVP with a 12-point effort. The East MVP went to Cambridge’s Brylyn Springer, the game’s leading scorer with 19 points.
Cox was the second-highest scorer for the West with nine points. Five players scored in double figures for the East team.
The West team lost both games, 55-77 in the girls’ game and 86-90 in the boys’ game.
Chase County’s Easton Fries and Jensen Olsen played for the West boys. Fries scored six point and Olsen totaled three points.
Gothenburg’s Kooper Koehn was named the East MVP after hitting a record nine three pointers and scoring 27 points.
West MVP went to Ogallala’s Caden Rezac who scored 19 points. Maywood/Hayes Center’s Jeremiah Ingison scored a team-high 20 points.
