CCS students head to Burwell for rodeo

On May 4 and 5, several CCS students competed in a rodeo held at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Burwell. Alex Nelson and Wyatt Krausnik both participated in the Tie Down event and came away with no time both days.
In Team Roping, Nelson and partner Felycia Kerkman received no time both days as did Krausnik and partner Sage Dyer. Jason Nelson and Justin Rosentreader received no time during the Saturday event but came away with a time of 21.700 on Sunday, earning them 10th place.
Kathya Aragon participated in Pole Bending, which is a timed event where a rider and their horse weave through a line of poles as quickly as they can. On Saturday, she came away with a time of 28.630 and a time of 31.284 on Sunday.
In Goat Tying, Abby Spicer earned times of 12.280 on Saturday and 16.300 on Sunday. Spicer also competed in Barrels and scored a time of 27.030 on Saturday and 25.219 on Sunday. Aragon earned times of 27.721 on Saturday and 22.199 on Sunday.
Jason Nelson, Wyatt Krausnik and Alex Nelson also participated in the Trap Shooting competition. Over the two days, A. Nelson scored a 55 out of 100, Krausnick scored a 75 out of 100 and J. Nelson scored an 88 out of 100.
