Imperial FFA holds annual labor auction at CCS auditorium

Saturday, March 2, the Imperial FFA Chapter welcomed the community for the soup supper and FFA labor auction in the CCS auditorium.
The event has become a tradition in Imperial and was very well attended this year.
The funds earned from the auction are used to defray costs of registration to contests, High Point Trip, Washington Leadership Conference in Washington DC, National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, State FFA Convention in Lincoln and various awards for the members.
Each succesful bidder will get eight hours of labor from the FFA member they bid on. This helps the people making the purchase as well as helping the student get the experience of working for someone other than family.
The FFA Chapter urges the buyers to work the student for the eight hours, giving them the opportunity to pay them back for their support.
This year the FFA offered 56 students at the auction. At the end of the auction, all of the remaining leftover soup and pie are auctioned off also, with the proceeds going to the chapter.
