SWNCBC receives owner occupied rehabilitation funding

Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation (SWNCBC) is leading a cooperative effort to provide some needed renovation to homes located within the incorporated communities of Perkins, Chase, Dundy, Hitchcock and Hayes Counties. Funding is provided through the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund Program (NAHTF).
SWNCBC will be opening a 30-day application period for homeowners to apply beginning March 1, 2024 and ending April 1, 2024. Applications received in SWNCBC’s office dated before March 1, 2024 or postmarked after April 1, 2024, will not be eligible. Please submit your application to the SWNCBC office during the 30-day application period to be considered for the program. Owner Occupied Rehab (OOR) provides homeowners a financial resource of up to $40,000 to complete weatherization, health and safety renovation work which may include: replacing windows, doors, siding, roofing, heating systems, insulation and more. This program is a “forgivable 0% loan” with no repayment necessary as long as the families maintain the property as their primary residence over the next 10 years. The NAHTF OOR program criteria includes, but is not limited to 1) Applicant’s Income Eligibility (Household income at or below 120% AMI) 2) Proof of Ownership and 3) Home Eligibility. Mobile homes and rental properties are not eligible for participation in this program.
