Lady Longhorn wrestlers compete at Sandhills Valley

    Three of the Lady Longhorn wrestlers competed at the Sandhills Valley Invitational Saturday, Dec. 9. With just three wrestlers, the Longhorns didn’t figure into the team scoring.
    Senior Brooke Schilke was the top finisher, bringing home a second place finish in the 155 pound class. Schilke now sits with a 7-3 record.
    Sophomore Haley Rusher also competed in the 155 pound division and placed fifth. Rusher’s record now sits at 6-4.
    Senior Iris Robles competed in the 125 pound division and finished in ninth place. Robles record stands at 1-4.

    155—Haley Rusher pinned by Morgan Schaaf (W/H) 1:13, pinned by Lake McClure (Og) 3:26, pinned Macey Flynn (A-M) 0:25, won by medical forfeit over Trinity Carr (Min), pinned Meka Daub (MC) 2:02 for fifth place.
    155—Brooke Schilke pinned Meka Daub (MC) 5:02, pinned Trinity Carr (Min) 3:29, pinned by Mariah Duran (SV) 1:02, pinned Lake McClure (Og) 1:38, pinned by Mariah Dunn (SV) 2:26 for second place.

    The Lady Longhorns will travel to McCook on Dec. 14 along with the junior varsity boys for the McCook Invite. Wrestling starts in McCook at 3 p.m. MT.
