Linda Lee (Browning) Davis was born Feb. 1, 1949, to Ralph Browning and Dollie (Mullanix) Browning in Imperial, Nebraska. She died Nov. 2, 2023, at the home of her daughter, shortly after being admitted into in-home hospice care in Arvada, Colorado at the age of 74.
Linda attended Imperial Grade School and graduated from Chase County High School in 1967. She joined flight attendant school post-graduation in Denver, Colorado where she met her future husband.
54 years ago on Aug. 2, 1969, Linda married James (Jim) Michael Davis in Arvada, Colorado, and to this union, a daughter, Jamie Lynn was born.
Linda traveled to Germany while Jim was stationed in the Army (1969-1971). Upon their return to the states Linda began a career in insurance working in middle management for Hartford Insurance for 15 years followed by working for agents with State Farm Insurance for the remainder of her working years. Linda also enjoyed selling Home Interiors and Gifts for 20+ years and had a natural ability for decorating.
At the age of 60, Jim and Linda moved from Arvada Colorado to Lake Havasu Arizona upon retirement where they could enjoy warmer weather and days on Lake Havasu. Linda loved playing cards with friends and family, cooking which was a skill set she learned from her mother whom for a period, the Browning family owned and operated a café in Imperial, and most treasured to Linda, enjoyed every minute with her only grandson, Walker James.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dollie Browning of Imperial; mother and father-in-law Clayton and Helen Davis of Arvada, Colorado; brothers-in-laws Mack Hazen of Arthur, Ansel Hill of Imperial, Leon Sievers of Greeley, Colorado, John Davis of Arvada, Colorado and Edward Sheils of Arvada, Colorado; and sister-in-law Sandra Browning of Imperial.
Linda is survived by her husband James “Jim” Davis of Lake Havasu, Arizona; daughter Jamie (Davis) Knight, son-in-law Brandon Knight, and grandson Walker James Knight of Arvada, Colorado; sisters, Janet Hazen of Arthur, Joyce Hill of Imperial, Connie (Ron) Dart of Imperial and Jeanne Sievers of Johnstown, Colorado; brother Larry Browning of Imperial; sister-in-law Julie (Davis) Sheils of Arvada, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
A funeral service is planned for Monday, Nov. 13 2023. Viewing at 11 a.m., service at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 12735 W. 58th Arvada, CO 80002 with a luncheon to follow. A gravesite procession will commence after lunch at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery at 12801 W. 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. Mount Olivet is entrusted with the arrangements.
