Malones become new owners of former Moreland Realty building

The office park in Imperial formerly known as Moreland Realty has been renamed 501 Broadway. Casey and Kristen Malone bought the building in January. Casey, who graduated from Chase County Schools in 2001, moved back to Imperial last November with his wife Kristen who is originally from Lincoln.
“The offices and lobby area were well maintained when we bought the building,” Casey said.
The building already had tenants in place, he said, including Flatwater Group, Inc, JBWC p.c. with Brett J. Cipperley, CPA, and State Farm Insurance with Schelly Magnani. They also have a tenant using the basement for storage.
“I brought my graphics design business to the offices and put it in the room that had been a bank walk-in vault that had been used as a storage room previously,” Kristen said.
There had been a fire in the building some years ago and the vault door is inoperable, but the huge door of thick steel makes for an interesting entrance, she said, so she named that business Vault 501.
“Then I brought in a tanning bed and that business has exploded beyond expectations. The tanning business has taken over the Vault 501 room,” she said.
The SPF 308 tanning business is expanding very well and now has a stand up tanning booth, red light therapy and a spray tan artist. They will also be bringing in more services.
“We have men and women of all ages as clients. Persons under 18 need parental permission. We do business by walk-ins and appointments by calling or texting 308-414-9240,” she said.
“We moved back to the area because we felt it is a better place to raise our children,” Kristen said.
“I had worked in real estate and Casey worked for a large corporation called House of Blues in Texas and Las Vegas where he did accounting,” she added.
