Semi accident near Lamar

A single vehicle injury accident occurred on Friday, Sept. 29 at 12:58 p.m. between mile marker #1 and mile marker #2 on Highway 6 south west of Lamar, Nebraska.
The Chase County Sheriff’s Deputies, Imperial Fire and EMS responded. The vehicle was a 1992 Mack straight truck owned by Progressive Agricultural Management of Wray, Colorado. The truck was being used to haul silage, but was unloaded at the time of the accident. The truck had been traveling westbound on Highway 6 when the passenger side front tire blew out causing the vehicle to leave the roadway into the north ditch. In the ditch the vehicle struck a field driveway, before continuing into a corn field on the north side of the ditch. The vehicle struck a pivot causing significant damage to the pivot, according to sheriff’s deputies.
The driver was identified by sheriff deputies as Arturo DeJesus, 37, of Wray. He was transported by the Imperial EMS to the Chase County Community hospital for a possible back injury. He was treated and later released.
