Seniors ready to return to action
It’s been two weeks since the Imperial Pinnacle Bank Senior Legion team’s last game.
Cooper Dillan and Tysen Lempke saw action at the Mid-Nebraska League All-Star game July 13. Colin O’Neil was also selected, but was unable to play. Horns’ Head Coach Bruce Peterson helped coach the group to a win by the West team.
The rest of the Horns have been helping with this week’s Class C Junior Legion State Tournament in Imperial and preparing for their district tournament in Valentine.
Imperial is the senior tournament’s second seed behind Atkinson and will play No. 7 Bridgeport Friday at 4 p.m. CT.
In the other half of the Horns’ bracket is third-seeded Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley and sixth-seeded Hershland.
In Atkinson’s half of the bracket are No. 5 Valentine and the 2023 Class Senior Legion State Tournament hosts, Gordon-Rushville, the fourth seed.
All first round games will be Friday and games will continue through Tuesday.
