CCS spring play will feature four comedies

Chase County Schools will present its spring play in a different format this year, according to Director Jill Bauerle.
In early May, four  short comedies featuring 16 high school students will be staged.
Bauerle reviewed content of each of the plays on tap.
One will take the audience to the South where two friends fearlessly work to save a sister. It’s a must-see if you love to belly laugh, she said.
Another will feature an atypical setting in which three fetuses discuss “life after birth” and includes a brilliantly funny script, Bauerle said. “Deliver Us Not” was the school’s state speech contest entry in the oral interpretation of drama division.
A trip through Greek mythology where the characters hit the beach, the murky depths of Hades and the Trojan War is the synopsis of another.
Another cast breaks “The Fourth Wall” as they take the stage. The main question the audience may or may not wonder with this play is  “if the butler did it,” she said.
Students involved in the four plays include Brayan Cazares, Zach Herbert, Andrew Wiest, George Colton, Aragorn Green, Peyton Norman, Kathya Aragon, Katelyn Stamm, Marley Randall, Hope Reinke, Harley Markee, Jasmine Johnson, Esmeralda Medrano, Annika McDaniel, Raissa Nevarez and Madelynn Hanes.
The plays will be presented both May 1 and 4 in the school auditorium at 7 p.m. both nights.
Donations will be accepted at the door to help cover the cost of scripts, royalties and other expenses, Bauerle said.
