Five WP FFA members receive State Degrees
Two Wauneta-Palisade seniors and three juniors were honored with their FFA State Degrees at last week’s Nebraska FFA State Convention in Lincoln.
Seniors Sydnee Acton and Kyle Jutten, as well as juniors Hoyte Holmes, Ryleigh McCrumb and Mandy Sandoval received their degrees.
Overall, the trip to Lincoln went well, advisor Tana Engel said.
Grayden Sutherland, Collin Bley, Peyton Cox and GraCee Goings competed in nursery and landscape. Sutherland won a red ribbon.
Also competing were Derik Kennicutt, Noah Sandman, Sean Manley and Holmes in welding and Toria Bley, Ansley Bartels, Kamryn Fanning and Addy Einspahr in Junior High Quiz Bowl.
Sandoval walked the stage to be recognized as a True Blue Speaker.
Goings was recognized for participating in the NE Farm Bureau Connecting Chapters Program.
“The kids really enjoyed the leadership academies and some were able to visit the state Capitol and were amazed by how much agriculture was incorporated into the structure of the building,” Engel said.
Next up for the chapter will be its end of year banquet and labor auction April 21.
