Chase County’s Adle chosen for All-State Band in Kearney

James Adle, an eighth grader at Chase County Schools, traveled to Kearney Saturday to take part in the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association’s 24th annual 8th Grade All-State Band and Jazz Band clinics and concerts.
CCS band teacher Agnes Strand said James was super excited to join other musicians from across the state and worked hard to prepare his portion of the music.
James’ mom, Rosie, said Strand joined the NSBA specifically so James could try out.
Rosie also said the audition music was harder than the pieces performed at the concert held at Kearney High School’s Concert Hall and Theatre.
A trumpet player, James participated in the concert band. Twelve trumpeters and three alternates were selected.
The conductor/clinician was Karen Fannin, professor and interm director of the School of Music at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The band performed “Sunchaser”, “Reminiscence”, “Zenith” and “Lindbergh Variations”.
Participants attended a special welcome event Friday evening at The Archway Monument.
