Teams being formed for Trivia Night fundraiser

    A new Trivia Night event in Imperial next month will also raise funds for Catholic Social Services in its outreach to those in need across southwest Nebraska.
    Staff at St. Isidore Gift & Thrift in Imperial is organizing a Trivia Night that will feature six-person teams competing to answer a series of trivia questions.
    Trivia Night will be held Friday, Nov. 11, starting at 7 p.m. in the Nutrien Event Center on the fairgrounds.
    On top of the Trivia Night fun, first and second place teams will win cash prizes and a live auction for some big items will be part of the evening, said Tonya Olsen, CSS outreach coordinator in Imperial. Appetizers and a cash bar are also on tap for the evening.
    Cost per team is $120, of which $90 will be donated to CSS for its work in this area.
    Olsen said the Imperial CSS location covers a 10-county region in southwest Nebraska in its outreach work.
    For fiscal year 2022, a total of $6,830 in assistance was provided, aiding 90 individuals in 12 communities with help in providing shelter, utilities, healthcare, childcare, clothing, household items and food.
    Funds to provide their outreach come from the thrift store sales. Next month’s Trivia Night fundraiser will help in that effort, Olsen said.
    Individuals helped by CSS go through a screening process beforehand.

    St. Isidore’s opened in 2008 at the corner of Broadway and East 8th Streets, before moving to its current location at 527 Broadway.
