Names forwarded for vacant district, county judicial seats
Last week, the Judicial Nominating Commission for 11th Judicial District forwarded five names to Governor Pete Ricketts for two vacant district and county judicial seats.
For the open District Judge seat, the following two names were forwarded for the Governor’s consideration: Chawnta M. Durham and Patrick M. Heng, both of North Platte.
The primary place of office for the district judicial vacancy is McCook, and occurred due to the retirement of District Judge David W. Urbom.
For the County Judge seat in the 11th District, the commission forwarded three names for the Governor’s consideration—Patrick M. Heng, Michael L. Nozicka and Tanya K. Roberts-Connick, all of North Platte.
The primary place of office for the county judge vacancy is North Platte. The vacancy is due to the resignation of County Judge Kent Turnbull.
The 11th Judicial District includes Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow and Thomas counties.
