Donald Haffner, 81, passed away on May 10, 2021 in his home in North Platte, Nebraska.
He was born on April 3, 1940 to Fred and Dorothy Haffner in Ione, Colorado.
Don graduated High School in 1959 from Hudson, Colorado.
He was united in marriage to Wanda Parker, on March 17, 1964 in Imperial. To this union four children were born, Debbie, Doug. Dawnette and David.
Don and his adopted father, Walter raised sugar beets in Hudson until the family moved to Hayes County Nebraska in 1975. Joining the farming operation of James and Alice Parker. He continued to operate and grow the family farm. Farming was his passion. Don never really retired in his mind. He left the farm when Alzheimer’s started effecting his health.
He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1992.
Don is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughters, Debbie (Maury) Cox of Hayes Center, Dawnette (Greg) Hilton of Hershey, son, Doug (Susanna) Haffner of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Nick, Alicea, Caleb and Eli; eight great grandchildren; and brother, Cliff Haffner of Hudson, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Haffner; adoptive father, Walter Haffner; infant son, David; infant twin brother, Ronald; brothers, Edward and Bob Haffner.
A private burial has taken place at Hayes Center Cemetery. You are invited to attend an online memorial via zoom Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Use ID # 9646981147 password 101990.
