Heidi and Kevin Cheng are a husband and wife, piano-violin duo who will be performing and leading Sunday’s service at Crossroads Wesleyan Church beginning at 10:30 a.m. The public is invited.
Two Imperial churches are hosting piano-violin duo Sunday morning
Kevin and Heidi Cheng will be performing a concert and leading the service at two local churches this Sunday morning.
They will be at the Imperial United Methodist Church at 9:30 a.m., then move to Crossroads Wesleyan Church for the 10:30 a.m. service.
The husband and wife piano-violin duo are six-time Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition winners.
The Chengs feature bluegrass gospel, sacred, Irish, oldies, patriotic and classical music, to name a few.
Kevin also gives his testimony on how he came to know Jesus. He is a master pianist, and she is an expert violinist.
Their background
Heidi was the youngest of six children, born and raised in Kearney.
She was home-schooled by her parents and started playing violin at age 10.
As a teenager, Heidi studied violin with Connie Moon, violinist and concertmaster.
She attended Central Community College in Grand Island.
She has performed with the Kearney Symphony Orchestra, Kearney Chamber Orchestra and the Masterworks Festival in Indiana.
Kevin was born and raised in Taiwan, growing up in a non-religious household with his parents following Buddhist traditions.
