Imperial reclaims Chase County Cup

Golfers playing for the Imperial Country Club recaptured the Chase County Cup Saturday in one of the more closely contested matches in several years with their counterparts from the Enders Lake Golf.
Team Imperial and Team Enders met at the Imperial Country Club course Saturday for the 19th playing of the Chase County Cup.
Team Enders held the cup after defeating Team Imperial last year at Enders Lake Golf Course in one of the most lopsided wins in cup history.
This year, Team Imperial took home the cup with 13.5 points to 10.5 points for Team Enders.
The two 12-member teams face off in a three-part match play contest that includes doubles best ball, doubles alternating shot and 12 singles matches for a total of 24 match points.
In doubles best ball, Team Imperial and Team Enders split, with each winning three matches.
In the alternating shot format, Team Imperial won three matches outright. Three other matches were halved, giving each team 1.5 points. That put Team Imperial up 7.5 points to Team Enders 4.5 points going into the singles matches.
Last year, Team Enders ran away with the cup in singles, winning 10 of 12 single matches. This year proved different, coming down to the last two singles matches before the cup was captured by Imperial.
This year, each team won six points in the singles to bring the final team totals to 13.5 for Imperial and 10.5 points for Enders.
For Enders to retain the cup, they needed just 12 points while Imperial needed 12.5 points to claim the cup.
Results of the matches are as follows:
