Manor, Parkview-Heights taking more steps to keep its residents safe

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) ramps up across the country and state, Imperial Manor and Parkview-Heights is taking extra steps to keep residents safe.

Administrator Eric Haider said their continued goal is to keep residents and staff as safe and healthy as possible. 

The Manor houses 40 residents while Parkview-Heights has a census of 31.

Several new changes have been established to protect residents, under the guidance of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Nebraska Dept. of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and ACAP, he said. 

“We have designated several rooms for isolations. Every new admission goes in an isolation room for the first 14 days to monitor for signs and symptoms of coronavirus,” he said

As announced two weeks ago, Manor and Parkview-Heights will not take any new admissions if they had been out of the U.S. the previous two weeks.

If any resident would display coronavirus signs or symptoms, they will be immediately placed in isolation for 14 days for observation, with the health department and their doctor notified for care and intervention, he added. 

“No residents or staff have shown any sign of coronavirus,” he said. “All residents are doing good.”
