Local veteran receives award

Louis “Bud” C. Statz, a member of the Andrew Kinder VFW Post 4688 and previous quartermaster, was surprised when he received a national Certificate of Appreciation for 2020.
The certificate was signed by National Commander-in-Chief, William “Doc” Schmitz and issued by the national office in Kansas City, Missouri by the VFW’s National Veterans Service Program.
The award recognizes patriotic Americans who ensure that the U.S. remains “the land of the free and the home of the brave” for generations to come.
