A LONG TIME COMING!!!
Since 1983, Chase County’s girls’ basketball teams have watched other SPVA Conference schools accept the tournament championship plaque. That changed on Saturday, though, when the 2019-20 Lady Longhorns defied their No. 3 seed to win the title in North Platte with a resounding 51-37 defeat of top-seeded Bridgeport. But fans will probably remember last Thursday’s SPVA semi-finals longer, when Chase County stole a 55-53 O.T. win from No. 2 seed North Platte St. Pat’s with a last second three-pointer.
