Longhorns continue winning streak

Despite a postponed game against Gothenburg Friday, the Longhorn boys’ basketball team is sitting high on the NSAA points list for class C-1.
The Longhorns were sitting in the No. 3 spot last week behind Auburn and Adams Central. Monday point totals had them sitting No. 1 ahead of Auburn by 0.2 points.
“That won’t sit for long,” Head Coach Chris Bartels said, “but I anticipate us staying in the top five.”
By Tuesday, the Longhorns were back at No. 3, but not by much.
This week, the SPVA Conference tournament started, with the Longhorns hosting Perkins County Monday, where Chase County picked up another win, advancing them to Friday’s semi-finals.
Last week, the Longhorns picked up wins against Southern Valley and Perkins County.
