Leiton ‘Swede’ Anderson

Leiton “Swede” E. Anderson, 71 of Kearney, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney after a long illness.
Leiton was born November 23, 1947 in Scottsbluff to Richard and Elsie (Johnson) Anderson.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict from 1968 to 1972.
On August 17, 1973 he married Debra Jaeger.
To this union was born a daughter, Deena.
He worked at the University of Nebraska Kearney as a carpenter for 25 years. He retired due to illness.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie of Kearney; a sister, Jan and husband Don Banks of Imperial; nephews, Doug Banks of Lincoln, Jason and wife Michelle Banks of Imperial; great niece Peyton Banks and a great nephew Logan Banks, both of Imperial.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his only daughter, Deena Strieder.
Funeral services were heldSaturday, June 15, 2019 at Horner Lieske McBride and Kuhl Funeral Home with Pastor James DeLoach officiating.
Burial followed at the Kearney Cemetery.
