Kenneth Sweeney

Kenneth Nelson Sweeney passed away with family by his side on March 8, 2019, in Loveland, Colorado, after a brief illness.
He was born in Champion, Nebraska, on Oct. 3, 1926 to John and Anna (Daschofsky) Sweeney, graduated from Chase County High School and attended University of Denver before being drafted into US Army to serve in Hawaii at the end of WWII.
He married Maxine Milner Aug. 8, 1948, and mourned her passing in 2001 after 53 years of marriage. They lived and worked in Imperial and North Platte, until moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Kenneth had a furniture store, burial insurance association, and arcade machine route in southwest Nebraska and was a salesman for Sears and Montgomery Wards.
He lived independently until age 92 and had moved in with family a month before he passed away.
Preceded in death by wife Maxine, parents John and Anna and brother Arlyn.
Survived by sister Connie (Joseph) Maestas, Littleton, Colorado; children David Sweeney, Los Angeles, California, Steven (Mary) Sweeney, Loveland, Colorado, Susan Sweeney (Mark Moran), Cheyenne, Wyoming, Tim (Pam) Sweeney, Johnstown, Colorado; grandchildren Joshua (Tatiana) Sweeney, Laguna Hills, California, Molly (Bryan) Kantor, Loveland, Colorado, Seth (Alyssa) Sweeney, Moreno Valley, California, Alisha (Jim) Compton, Denver, Colorado, Jennifer (Travis) Harper, New Franklin, Ohio; great- and great-great-grandchildren Jordyn (Harper) Kline, Edison Compton, Audrey Compton, Emma Kantor, Ava Kantor, Ragan Pace and Sophia Pace.
A memorial service was held in Loveland, Colorado.
