Work on ‘little city’ for June 7-8 Cattlemen’s Ball to start soon

    Work will begin soon to build a temporary small town that for two days will more than double the population of Wauneta.
    Construction schedules and the layout of the grounds were among agenda items Sunday at the first big public organizational meeting for this year’s Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball to be held in Chase County.
    The event will be June 7 and 8 on the Wayne and Chris Krausnick land off Highway 6, a half-mile east of the Enders Dam.
    More than 50 people, including committee heads for the mammoth organizational undertaking, attended the meeting held at Broken Arrow Cellars in Imperial.
    Allison Sandman, one of the hosts for the event, said 4,500 tickets will be available.
