CORRECTION ON SCHOOL PRINCIPAL SALARIES STORY

This week's story on the raises granted to principals contains inaccuracies that need to be corrected. 

The salary of Principal Becky Odens was adjusted in April from $82,500 to $86,430 due to an increase in the number of days on her contract. This addition was noted in an Imperial Republican story but this change of salary was not accounted for when calculating the percentage increase. As a result, the percentage increase listed for Odens in the headline and story was incorrect.

The salaries of both Principal Odens and Principal Jon Lechtenberg were both set at $94,000 by the board last week. This represented an increase of 8.75 percent increase for Principal Odens, not the 14 percent that was incorrectly reported. The increase for Principal Lechtenberg represented a 4.4 percent increase.

In addition, Principal Odens was hired in the spring of 2015 and will be completing her fourth school term as principal, not three as reported. 

The Imperial Republican acknowledges the inaccuracies reported and regrets these were not discovered prior to publication.
