Voter registration deadline Friday, sample ballots appear

With Election Day less than two weeks away, people who haven’t registered to vote have until Friday to do so.
The deadline for in-person registration is 6 p.m. Friday evening.
The Chase County Clerk’s office will remain open until 6 p.m. to accommodate people coming after work to register.
In-person registration is the only option as online voter registration ended Friday, Oct. 19.
People who have changed addresses or changed their name since their last voter registration should register those changes with the clerk’s office by the Friday deadline as well.
If registered, these individuals will be allowed to cast provisional ballots on Election Day. However, these ballots will not be counted unless the changes can be verified, according to Debra Clark, county clerk and election commissioner.
Addresses are used to determine which precinct the voter will vote in.
Friday will also be the final day a voter can request an early voting ballot be mailed to them. No reason is needed for a voter to request an early voting ballot.
