Historical Society annual dinner/meeting will include garden dedication

    The Chase County Historical Society will be holding its annual dinner, program and meeting this Saturday at the Champion Community Center.
    Prior to the dinner, there will be a dedication of the Bell Garden at the museum at 5:30 p.m.
    The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. following the dedication.
    Catherine Griffin, field archaeologist with the Bureau of Reclamation for the Great Plains Region, will present a program on Central Plains Indian culture from a time period around 1,000 years ago.
    Once the program has concluded, there will be a business meeting with election of officers, said Charley Colton, president of the historical society.
    The meal will be prepared by the Champion Junior Women’s Club.
    Tickets for the meal and program are $15.
