Mother Nature unkind to Colorado, Perkins Co. fields

Fields to the north and west of Chase County didn’t fare well in weekend storms. Above, these large hailstorms were found in the yard of Preston and Marcia Case in Venango. This cornfield owned by Brett Gerk of Holyoke, Colorado, near the state line was beat to shreds in Saturday’s storm, where hailstones measured as much as 3 inches in diameter.
